Johnny Fisher 245.5 vs. Dave Allen 265 – Official DAZN Weigh-in Results for Saturday

Heavyweights Dave Allen and Johnny Fisher weighed in today for their 10-round rematch in the main event this Saturday, May 17th, at the Copper Box Arena in London. The two are fighting again to clear up the controversy of their previous fight last December, which Fisher won by a highly controversial 12-round split decision in Riyadh. The event will be shown live on DAZN.

It was arguably one of the worst-scoring fights the sport has seen. Allen deserved the win, and Fisher dropped Allen in the fifth and beat the stuffing out of him. The fight showed how limited Fisher is talent-wise.

There’s nothing on the line for this fight in terms of titles. The winner will continue to focus on domestic-level scraps rather than going after top contenders. These are local lads, not world-class.

Fans on social media are dumping on Allen (23-7-2, 18 KOs), saying he’s come in at a career-high instead of trimming down to give him a better chance of winning. However, Allen’s career is 272 when he fought David Howe in 2018, and he did a fine job, knocking him out in the fourth round.

Fisher (13-0, 11 KOs) is a marginal fighter, and he may fold if Allen can land his power shots like last time. The large sellout crowd that will be in attendance on Saturday is expected to be mostly Fisher fans, and that means Allen may need a knockout for him to win. All the cheering from Fisher’s fans may influence the judges to give him rounds that he otherwise wouldn’t win without the crowd noise.

Hearn: A Scrap for the Money

“It’s emotional. This is a big fight. There’s a lot on the line. People are very emotional supporting Johnny Fisher, especially his family,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV about the rematch between heavyweights Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen this Saturday night. “Make one thing clear. This is a fight, and this is a fight in the trenches. It’s going to do big numbers.

“We’re going to be sold out at the Copper Box [Note: seating capacity 7,500], and it’s a great heavyweight, domestic dust up. The reality is, this is prize fighting, and everybody is fighting for the next level. The next level brings championships. You win, the money goes up, and that’s what people are fighting for.

“So, that’s what it is. It’s a scrap for money. It’s prize-fighting, and on Saturday, you’re going to see the epitome of prize-fighting. Two blokes who are desperate to win, who will give you a good, hard, honest fight and value for money. Not dancing around the ring. Not trying to survive and grab and hold. Balls on the guillotine and rolling the dice,” said Hearn.
