The 60-year-old father of the former heavyweight champion shouted challenges and accusations toward Froch during media activity ahead of Thursday’s press conference promoting Tyson Fury’s April 11 fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. His voice could be heard across the media area as he called for Froch to face him directly.

“Put some respect on the name of John Fury,” he shouted. “Get Carl Froch here. If he wants it, I’m here. I’m afraid of no man. Only God Almighty.”

The outburst continued as John Fury accused Froch of publicly insulting him and avoiding confrontation.

“They’ve been making videos about John Fury for two years,” he said afterward. “You’re making videos, come and fight now.”

Froch, who was present as part of the broadcast team, showed no interest in escalating the situation. He acknowledged hearing his name mentioned but remained focused on his role covering the event.

“He’s already started on me a little bit,” Froch said. “He’s mentioned my name, ‘Carl Froch, if you want to have it, let’s have it.’ I don’t know what he wants me to have. Let’s just do what we’ve got to do and be professional.”

His reaction left John Fury’s challenge unanswered and brought the exchange to a quiet end without further escalation.

The confrontation came as Tyson Fury prepares to return to the ring after more than a year away. He previously announced his retirement following consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, but later confirmed his intention to fight again.

“I was born and raised to fight,” Tyson Fury said when explaining his decision to return.

Makhmudov represents a physically dangerous opponent, known for early knockouts and forward pressure, which makes Fury’s comeback an immediate test after his recent losses exposed technical limitations against disciplined heavyweights.

John Fury’s outburst added another distraction ahead of the event, but the only result that will influence Tyson Fury’s position in the division is what happens once he steps back into the ring.
