Tim Tebow joined the Florida men’s basketball team at the White House on Wednesday as the Gators received recognition for their 2025 hoops national championship.
No one expected that to lead to a random stray being thrown at the New York Jets, one of Tebow’s former teams.
President Donald Trump delivered on the comedic timing, though.
He called Tebow up to the stage and recognized him for a great football career, despite some apparent adversity.
The President said: “You did damn well in the pros, despite being on the Jets.”
That’s a pretty classic one-liner.

Tebow was on the Jets for one season. He appeared in 12 games in 2012, throwing for just 39 yards while rushing for 102.
The Gators legend was the 25th overall pick by the Broncos in 2010. He then led Denver to a heroic overtime playoff win over the Steelers on a walk-off touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas.
Tebow’s NFL career fizzled from there as his impressive rushing ability wasn’t often matched by his left arm in the passing game. He remains one of the most accomplished college football players ever for his time at Florida.
“He goes down as one of the greatest college football players,” President Trump said. “We can only base that on results, right, Tim?”
In his post-playing career, Tebow has impacted tons of lives through his widespread foundation work.
