CHELSEA begin their Champions League campaign with a blockbuster clash against Bayern Munich TONIGHT!

The Blues have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the new Premier League season, winning two and drawing two of their opening four games.

Enzo Maresca’s side have been tipped by many to challenge for the title this term after completing some impressive business during the summer window.

The Italian boss strengthened his striking options by bringing in the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

The arrival of two new big-money No9s left Nicolas Jackson surplus to requirements.

This resulted in the Senegalese attacker moving to Bayern on an initial loan, with the German champions having an obligation to buy for £56.2m if he makes a set number of appearances.

Now the question on everyone’s lips is whether or not Jackson can come back to haunt his parent club this evening.

Is Nicolas Jackson allowed to play for Bayern Munich vs Chelsea?

In the Premier League, players sent on loan to rival teams are not allowed to face their parent club, but there is no such rule for the Champions League.

This means Jackson is free to play for Bayern against Chelsea this evening.

The 24-year-old striker played his first minutes for the German giants at the weekend, coming on for Serge Gnabry at half-time.

Jackson is unlikely to start against the Blues but could feature in some capacity off the bench.

On Tuesday, Bayern boss Vincent Kompany gave some insight into whether Jackson is ready to start, he said: “We will see tomorrow. I would be giving a little bit too much away about the team.

“On the second question, you could see it both ways. You could be on the side where you think you want your ex-players to play against you straight away and he would be given the chance to do something against you.

“I don’t think it will be black or white but it will certainly be a special game for him.”
