The Detroit Lions haven’t had the services of wide receiver Jameson Williams the last two weeks after the former first-round pick was suspended by the NFL.
Williams’ suspension came stemmed from his violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. The Alabama product took responsibility for getting suspended, but said he did not knowingly take a banned substance.
Whatever the case may be, Williams didn’t appeal his suspension and has since been reinstated by the league in time for the Lions’ Week 10 game against the Houston Texans on Sunday night.
However, things haven’t been going great upon his return to the field. Here’s a look at what Williams is up to early on in the Week 10 contest against Houston.
Is Jameson Williams playing tonight?
UPDATE: Williams has his first catch of the night late in the first quarter and it went for 23 yards. Let’s hope that’s a sign of things to come.
Williams is indeed active and in the lineup. He has been targeted once as of this writing. His target came on a deep ball from Jared Goff, but unfortunately it fell incomplete. Hopefully the Lions can get the explosive receiver going moving forward.
We’ll be keeping track of his stats below.
Jameson Williams stats today
Stats | Total |
Targets | 3 |

Despite his suspension, which was the second of his career after he receiving a multi-game ban due to violating the league’s gambling policy, Williams is in the midst of a career year.
Entering Week 10, he had 17 catches for 361 yards and three touchdowns. The yardage and touchdown totals are both career-bests for him.
