ANGE POSTECOGLOU has fired back at suggestions he’s a ‘failed manager’ and accused a journalist of smirking during a press conference.
The Australian is still waiting for his first win in charge of Forest with the team sitting 17th in the Premier League after seven games under his watch.
And with pressure growing, Postecoglou came out swinging in Friday’s press conference.
Asked if he feels like he’s being seen as someone lucky to get another top job after his Tottenham exit, Postecoglou didn’t hold back.
He said: “I know you’re smirking at me, but that’s what’s been said.
“If you think I’m a failed manager who’s lucky to be here, then of course the last five weeks look like I’m under pressure.

“But there’s another version of the story.”
He defended his time at Spurs, where he finished fifth and won a trophy, but said much of that success has been ignored by critics.
The Australian said: “I was told Tottenham needed to win a trophy. We did that.
“We got back into Europe. But since then all I’ve heard is that we finished 17th. Somehow the good part of that year has disappeared from the record books.
“If you want to know why we ended up 17th, just look at the final few team sheets. I was prioritising the Europa League.
“And in the last game, the players had been out partying for two days, I let them. They deserved it.
“If you judge me on that, then yes, I look like a failure. But if you look at the full picture, maybe I’m a manager who, given time, gets it right. That’s how it’s worked at every club I’ve been at.”
Postecoglou even joked that he might have been too quick to settle in.
He laughed: “I’ve just moved into a new apartment.
“Maybe that was a bad idea. I should have stayed in temporary digs, that’s how early into this job we are.
“Yeah, we haven’t won a game. I’m as disappointed as anyone. But I don’t think we’ve been outplayed.
“If you think we haven’t been in a position to win any of them, then you haven’t been watching.”
