TENNIS star Christopher Eubanks has announced his retirement from the sport aged 29.
The American turned pro in 2017 and reached a career-high ranking of world No29 in July 2023.
That came off the back of his best Grand Slam result – a quarter-final run at Wimbledon.
Eubanks stunned Cameron Norrie in round two and No5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round before falling to Daniil Medvedev in five sets.
It meant he earned four of his eight match wins at Majors across his career in that fortnight.
His solo ATP title came at the 2023 Mallorca Championships on the grass just before that Wimbledon.

The big serving 6ft 7ins Atlanta ace has already taken up punditry duties alongside his tennis, regularly working for Tennis Channel.
And on Tuesday, now down at No266 in the world, he took to social media to hint he was calling time on his playing career.
Captioning a series of photos and videos from tennis throughout the years, including as a young child, Eubanks wrote: “If you had told this little boy from the Southside of Atlanta that he would’ve accomplished all that he did, he wouldn’t believe you.
“2 Time ACC Player of the Year? Yeah right.
“Wimbledon Quarter-finalist? No chance.
“An Olympian? Unfathomable.
“I was given opportunity to travel around the world and form incredible relationships all while fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing professional tennis.
“I can’t put into words how blessed I have been.
“Is this absolutely the end?! Tough to say for certain but if it is, WHOOPTY DOO!!! It’s been an incredible ride.”
Plenty of tennis stars flooded the comments section on the Instagram post with messages of support.
Coco Gauff said: “Team [giraffe emoji] for lifeeeee.”
Ben Shelton replied: “Happy for you bro bro.”
Taylor Townsend wrote: “WHOOPY DOO MY PATNA PATNA! Proud of everything you have done and will do! You are a champ on and off the court!”
Ons Jabeur added: “We will miss you.”
