After a successful 2023-24 regular season and a loss to the Rangers in the second round of the NHL Playoffs, the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to take another step forward in 2024. The franchise’s bevy of young talent combined with forward momentum makes a ticket to see the ‘Canes that much hotter.

Young stars like Jack Drury, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and rookie Bradly Nadeau will look to lead the offense, with help from free-agent acquisitions William Carrier, Jack Roslovic, and Tyson Jost.

Carolina’s defense remains solid despite some departures. Stud 2023 signing Dmitry Orlov, a top-four defenseman with the Washington Capitals before signing with the Hurricanes in 2023, will join Jaccob Slavin and Brent Burns as the class of this defensive unit. Carolina allowed an NHL-low 25.06 shots on goal per game last year.

Of course, we can’t talk about Carolina without mentioning its goalies. Both Pyotr Kochetkov (23-13-4, 2.33 goals-against average, .911 save percentage, four shutouts in 42 regular-season games) and Frederik Andersen (13-2-0, 1.84 GAA, .932 save percentage, three shutouts in 16 regular-season games) shined for the Hurricanes last season. If they can even come close to replicating those nunbers, it will be another fine season at Lenovo Center.
