With Penguins captain Sidney Crosby on the cusp of a career milestone, Pittsburgh (2-2) host Sabres (1-3) in the NHL at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.
Crosby is aiming to become the 10th NHL player to record 1,600 regular-season points. He is one point shy of the tally but hasn’t yet scored this season.
Both teams are coming off recent victories, with the Penguins taking down the Canadiens 6-3 and the Sabres defeating the Stanley Cup champions Panthers 5-2 for their first win of the season.
It was a timely victory for Buffalo as they hit the road for the next three games. Star forward J.J. Peterka, who suffered a concussion on October 5 during the clash against the Devils, is also expected to return to the Sabres line-up.
