“He’s Going to Sleep Devin”: Floyd Schofield Jr. Backs Brian Norman Jr. to Destroy Haney in Saudi Arabia

Floyd Schofield Jr. predicts that WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. will put Devin Haney “to sleep” on November 22, 2025, in their co-feature fight on DAZN PPV in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) is the wrong type of fighter for Haney (32-0, 16 KOs) to be fighting now at this point in his career. He doesn’t appear to have fully recovered mentally from what happened to him in his fight against Ryan Garcia 17 months ago, on April 20, 2024.

Schofield Sr. believes that Haney, 26, will run from Norman Jr, use his long reach, and outbox him to win a decision. However, his Floyd Jr. doesn’t see that working for Devin for the full 12-round fight.

Schofield Jr. Sees What’s Coming

“Brian Norman is going to sleep Devin,” said Floyd Schofield Jr. to Fighthype, predicting a knockout win for WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. over Devin Haney on November 22. “Of course, he’s [Haney] going to run. He’d better not stand there. ”

Running Won’t Win in Riyadh

It’s clear from watching Haney’s last fight against Jose Ramirez on May 2, 2025, that he’s going to be on the run all night against Norman Jr. Turki Alalshikh needs to forget about his no Tom and Jerry mandate for this fight.

Haney has no choice but to run, and make it an ugly fight because he doesn’t have the chin or the punching power to stay on open ground to have a firefight against Norman Jr. He’s outgunned in this fight. Devin is facing a vastly superior fighter with weapons that he’s not equipped physically to deal with.

“Devin can possibly outbox him, but I think Brian is coming out victorious in that fight. If Brian can get to him, but if he lets Devin have his way, Devin can pick him off with his reach. You know Brian is going to crack Devin in that big nose,” said Schofield Jr.

Wood’s Verdict: Lights Out for Devin

At some point, Norman Jr. will get to Haney to unload his heavy ordinance on him. He predicts that Devin won’t be able to handle getting hit with those concussive shots. If Haney is stunned for even a moment, Norman Jr., 24, will make quick work of him to score a brutal knockout.

If Haney takes a direct hit from Norman Jr, his chances of survival are slim due to the power of the shots, especially if he takes another hard punch while he’s lost his senses. The referee won’t be able to step in before Norman Jr. lands the finishing punch.

Haney’s Legacy on the Line

The rematch that Haney has been hoping to get against Ryan Garcia will likely never happen if Norman Jr. crushes him on November 22nd. There would be no demand for that fight without Haney coming back from the loss to defeat three top welterweights. But who can he actually beat?

I wouldn’t give Haney any chance of defeating these top fighters at 147:

  • Shakhram Giyasov
  • Conor Benn
  • Raul Curiel
  • Karen Chukhadzhian
  • Rohan Polanco

If this is the end of Haney’s career as one of the high-end fighters, hopefully, he’s made enough to purchase a fixer-upper home in The Flats in Beverly Hills.
