MANCHESTER CITY star Rayan Cherki has “no chance” of playing at next summer’s World Cup.
That’s according to former France boss Raymond Domenech, who led Les Bleus to their final loss to Italy in 2006.
Cherki, 22, has enjoyed a flying star to his time at the Etihad and even superstar Kylian Mbappe labelled him a “special talent”.
But Domenech has serious doubts over whether a Cherki will be on the plane next summer.
And he even named three stars current boss Didier Deschamps should pick instead.
Asked about Cherki on L’Equipe TV, Domenech said: (Maghnes) Akliouche, (Michael) Olise, and (Christopher) Nkunku are his direct competitors.

“He he has no chance.”
Cherki was a significant part of City’s summer rebuild with Pep Guardiola splashing £34m to sign the playmaker from Lyon after top target Florian Wirtz chose to join Liverpool.
And such a dismissal from Domenech will come as a shock to City fans given Cherki’s stellar start to live in Manchester.
The young Frenchman has established himself as a key figure for Guardiola and his side’s hunt to claw back ground on league-leaders, Arsenal.
In just nine appearances Cherki has registered three goals and three assists across all competitions.
And his contributions and natural ability haven’t gone unnoticed by Guardiola who called him “one the huge talents I have ever seen”.
Cherki made a dazzling international debut in June’s Nations League semi-final against Spain, registering a goal and an assist from the bench.
And he has since made himself a regular fixture in Deschamps’ squad.
Yet France boast one of the strongest talent pools in world football and it may not be enough to earn a spot in the 26-man squad.
