HARRY MAGUIRE is ready to snub a £500,000-a-week move to Saudi Arabia to sign a new deal with Manchester United, according to reports.
The 32-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the current season and has been eyed up by teams in the Middle East.
Maguire has been strongly linked with an exit from United in recent years after struggling to get into the starting XI under old boss Erik ten Hag.
The England international became a firm favourite under Ruben Amorim last season but has only started twice in the Premier League in this campaign.
Maguire would be offered huge riches in Saudi if he did decide to go, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq both said to be interested.
But the Mirror say Maguire is willing to walk away from such a lucrative offer and commit his future to Old Trafford, providing they offer him an extension.
United are considering prolonging the former Leicester star’s stay – something they previously did, last summer.
The report also says Maguire knows joining a Saudi club would hurt his chances of playing for England under Thomas Tuchel.
However, he is also said to be aware that the next contract he signs could be the last major one of his football career, so he must secure the right terms.
SunSport reported this week that Maguire was hopeful of signing a new deal at United after opening discussions with chiefs.
Maguire held initial talks with director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves, with more expected in the coming weeks.
Amorim rates Maguire highly after adding him to his five-man leadership group this season.
He named him captain for United’s embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby.
Maguire was previously stripped of the armband by ex-boss Erik ten Hag in July 2023.
But he has enjoyed an upturn in form under Amorim and has become a fan-favourite after producing some consistent form.

He has played in 38 of Amorim’s 50 games so far and fans will still have fond memories of when he scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Lyon in the Europa League last season.
Maguire joined United from Leicester for £80m – which is still the record for a defender – in 2019.
He has featured 253 times for the Red Devils and was presented with a commemorative frame from director of football Jason Wilcox last month to mark his 250th game.
This summer he said he was open to extending his United deal and said he would be “silly” to jump ship at this point.
Maguire said: “Over the next few months they’ll sit down and we’ll have a conversation about where we want to go and if they want to extend.
“I have something in my mind about what I want to do and what I want to be. It’s an amazing club to play for and you’d be silly if you wanted to jump out of it as soon as you could.”
