GRAHAM POTTER is set for a shock return to management with Sweden – just three weeks after West Ham sacked him.
The Englishman, 50, was axed by the Hammers after recording just six wins during his nine-month reign.
But the former Brighton and Chelsea boss is closing in on an immediate new job on the international stage.
Potter is due to take over the Swedish national team after Jon Dahl Tomasson was axed this week.
The Scandinavians, who remain winless from their four World Cup qualifiers, are bottom of Group B and appear longshots to reach next year’s showpiece in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
But having won their Nations League group, they are currently on track to get a playoff spot.

GROUND WORK
Once world-famous 250,000-capacity stadium left to rot and now a sorry state
Sun Sport understands Potter is ready to accept that challenge and pen an initial deal until March.
And he is no stranger to Sweden. He spent seven years from 2011 managing Ostersund, leading them to three promotions into the top tier of Swedish football, as well as guiding them to Swedish Cup glory.
Potter opened the door to replacing Danish coach Tomasson by revealing he was back in Sweden while considering his next career choice.
He said: “I’m between jobs and just left the Premier League. I’m open to anything, really, where I feel I can help.
“The job as head coach of the Swedish national team is fantastic.
“I have feelings for Sweden. I love the country and I love Swedish football.
“I have a lot to be grateful for towards Swedish football.
“So yes, it would be a fantastic opportunity for me, obviously.”
Potter left West Ham 19th in the Premier League table following his sacking.
He was swiftly replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo, who has since taken charge of two games.
The former Nottingham Forest boss avoided defeat with a draw to Everton in his first match before losing to Arsenal.
Potter would inherit a Sweden team with plenty of talent available.
