The New York Giants remain among the teams waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make his decision in free agency.

While they’ve conducted some due diligence in the meantime by bringing in veterans Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco for visits while Rodgers strolls the beach seeking clarity on his next move, it seems the 41-year-old is still New York’s top preference.

Whether Rodgers feels the same way is an entirely different question but in the latest predictions for the second week of free agency, Cory Woodruff of For The Win has the four-time MVP joining the Giants.

“The Giants have always made the most sense for Rodgers, who could stay in New York and play for a team desperate for at least some stability at quarterback. New York could go ahead and draft his replacement, too,” Woodruff wrote.

Rodgers is reportedly seeking a contract in the “same general range” as Sam Darnold’s deal with the Seattle Seahawks, which came in at $33.5 million annually, per The Athletic.

Coming off a 3-14 season, the big picture for the Giants shouldn’t revolve around which retread quarterback they sign in free agency. Regardless of whether they land Rodgers, Wilson or Flacco, the primary objective still remains in finding a franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Even through an injury-riddled season coming off a torn Achilles in the previous campaign, Rodgers posted solid numbers on the surface in 2024. He completed 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 90.5 passer rating. His passer rating was the lowest of his career since becoming a starter in 2008.

The Giants can’t do a whole lot more in free agency until Rodgers makes his decision so this remains the biggest storyline in the NFL going into the second week of free agency.
