Gervonta Davis has been released from custody fromTurner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade after being arrested earlier on Friday for a domestic violence battery charge against his ex-girlfriend.

“Tank” Davis Out of Jail

Covering his face with a white t-shirt, Tank Davis was escorted out of the jail by three correctional officers and was walked to an awaiting car and left. Davis was being given the celebrity treatment with the officer escort.

The incident between Gervonta and his ex-girlfriend occurred last month on Father’s Day, on June 15th. He allegedly hit her in the back of the head and slapped her.

Lamont Roach said on social media tonight that his rematch with WBA lightweight champion Tank Davis is still on for August 16th. He says they’re still “waiting on the announcement” for the fight. It’s kind of odd that the fight hasn’t been announced yet, as there’s only a month to go. It makes fans wonder if it’s really going to happen or not.

For Tank’s sake, he’d be better off if they kept him in jail for a month, because then he would have an excuse not to fight Roach again in a risky fight. Most boxing fans believe Davis lost their previous fight on March 1st, which was a 12-round draw. Davis would be better off if the rematch with Roach didn’t happen because he can get a much bigger payday against Shakur Stevenson.

Roach Rematch Still On: August 16th

“I heard buddy [Tank Davis] is home already. So, for all you people that are saying, ‘Y’all not fighting.’ I just want to let y’all know the fight is still on. It’s still scheduled to be August 16th. We’re just waiting on the announcement. I heard that s*** earlier today,” said Lamont on X, letting his followers know his rematch with Gervonta Davis is still on for August 16th.
