Stephen Fulton Jr. (22-1, 8 KOs) says he’s remade his game offensively and defensively ahead of his rematch with WBC featherweight champion Brandon Figueroa (25-1-1, 19 KOs) this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Fulton’s Transformation

Fulton Jr. says his trainer, Derek ‘Bozy’ Ennis, has given him a new look. That could mean he will fight more aggressively, going on the attack against Figueroa. Four years ago, on November 27, 2021, Fulton squeaked by with a narrow 12-round majority decision against Figueroa.

Regardless of his approach, Fulton will find it more difficult to defeat Figueroa a second time. Stephen has gotten stronger since moving up to 126, and he’s in his prime now at 28. Since his loss to Fulton, Figueroa has impressed with wins over Carlos Castro, Mark Magsayo, and Jessie Magdaleno.

The former WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion Fulton and Figueroa will fight in the chief support bout on PBC on Prime Video PPV. This is a must-win for Fulton, 30, to turn his career around in a new weight class at featherweight against big punchers with size and power that could make things difficult.

He didn’t look great in Fulton’s debut at 126 last year against Carlos Castro on September 14th. Castro dropped him in the fifth and had to rally to win a 10-round split decision. Fulton’s chin will need to be much better if he’s to defeat Figueroa in their rematch because he will be getting hit with shots equally as hard as the one Castro dropped him with.

“I’m here in another great position for my life and career. I know that he’s going to come prepared, and I’m more than prepared,” said Stephen Fulton during today’s final press conference.

“My only objective is to get that victory and it doesn’t matter how it goes down or how I get it. I will be a two-division world champion Saturday night. It has to end with my hand raised,” Fulton continued.

“The only thing I’m focused on is becoming a two-division world champion. My trainer ‘Bozy’ Ennis has given me a different look at things both offensively and defensively.”
