Fulham ‘demand £10million’ if Nottingham Forest want to poach Marco Silva as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement

FULHAM will demand a hefty £10million if Nottingham Forest want to make Marco Silva their next boss, with the Cottagers reluctant to lose him mid-season.

SunSport understands Forest have drawn up a three-man shortlist of Silva, Roberto Mancini and Sean Dyche as they look to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was axed after just 39 days in charge.

Silva, 48, is admired by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, who worked with the Portuguese coach during a title-winning stint at Olympiakos in 2016.

The Fulham boss has turned the West London side into a solid mid-table Premier League outfit and is now into his fifth season at Craven Cottage.

But Forest would need to stump up around £10m in compensation according to the Independent and even then, Silva is understood to be reluctant to walk away mid-campaign.

Sean Dyche, currently out of work, is also keen on the job.

The former Everton boss is a boyhood Forest fan and has spoken in the past about managing at the City Ground as a dream move.

However, he’s not sold on taking a short-term deal, which is all Forest are willing to offer unless the right long-term fit becomes clear.

Mancini, who won Euro 2020 with Italy, is also on the radar but would command a significant wage.

The 59-year-old left his role with the Saudi Arabia national team last year and has been out of management since.

Forest are being cautious after paying out to both Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou in the space of just 40 days, a turbulent spell that’s seen the club slide further into Premier League trouble.

Postecoglou oversaw eight games during his short reign, drawing two and losing six, including a 3-2 defeat to Swansea in the League Cup.

Forest are keen to move quickly but this time they want to get it right.
