Formula E to showcase further community, inclusivity and sustainability initiatives at Miami ePrix

Working on STEM projects with Girls on Track and environmental education with local charity Sprout Up are just two ways in which Formula E is making its Miami return felt.

Having not raced in Florida since 2015, Formula E returns this weekend and will make its debut at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for round five of its 11th season.

The news comes just weeks after the championship’s first-ever Evo Sessions. Held 50 miles north at Formula 1 circuit Miami International Autodrome, Formula E invited 11 content creators for a two-day tryout in the latest cars in what was a new approach to bringing in new fans to the series.

The core values of the championship have not changed in 11 years, however, and will only continue to be highlighted Stateside.

Girls on Track, an initiative aimed at growing the number of females involved in motorsport, will see up to 120 young women attend programming across the week, focused on STEM education, careers talks and educational workshops.

Elsewhere, Formula E will donate $25,000 to Sprout Up, a local Miami-based charity whose ‘Greener Together’ initiative promotes environmental and food education programmes.

The donation, part of the $250,000 Better Futures Fund, will help build garden infrastructure and distribute local, fresh produce to more individuals.

These two Miami-specific projects align with the fundamentals of Formula E, with the Miami ePrix powered by renewable energy and continued air freight reductions cutting CO2 emissions over the season.

“As we return to Miami, we’re proud to continue driving meaningful change through initiatives that positively impact both people and the planet.

“From supporting local community projects through the Better Futures Fund to empowering young women in motorsport with FIA Girls on Track, we are using our platform to create real opportunities and inspire the next generation.

“By integrating sustainability into every aspect of our championship – whether through renewable energy solutions, reducing freight emissions, or engaging with underprivileged communities – we are proving that motorsport can be a force for good.”
