TENNIS star Matteo Berrettini was presented with an £11 restaurant gift card in a car park after winning a “ridiculous” tournament.
The Italian lost the Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic in 2021 and has made the last four at both the Australian and US Open.
Berrettini, who has won ten titles, can now add a unique 11th to his name.
The 28-year-old was crowned “The Hottie” after fans were asked to vote for the sexiest male tennis player.
Former American players John Isner, Sam Querrey, Jack Sock and Steve Johnson’s Nothing Major Podcast were behind the competition.
Berrettini was hilariously crowned champion in the car park at the Indian Wells Open.
Querrey and Johnson presented him with a sash that had “winner” written on it, a plastic trophy and an £11 gift card to Italian chain restaurant Olive Garden.
Isner wrote on Instagram: “We at Nothing Major want to make Matteo feel like he’s at home in Rome.”
Fans thought it was brilliant, with one saying: “The commitment to bring him a plastic trophy and a $15 olive garden coupon is killing me.”
Another added: “This is the most hilarious/ridiculous tennis thing I’ve ever seen.”
A third wrote: “Hahaha Olive Garden for the Italian.”
The podcast later added: “Can you believe this wasn’t sponsored by Olive Garden? PS: Olive Garden DM us.”
Berrettini was named “hottie”, beating the likes of Tommy Paul, Casper Ruud, Grigor Dimitrov and British No1 Jack Draper to the crown.
The current world No35 has banked £9.6million in his career but the podcast has “covered the cost of his ravioli”.
