FORMER tennis star Laura Robson has been lined up for a TV job covering a completely different sport.

Robson, 31, is in talks with TNT Sport for a surprise role reporting on CRICKET.

The former world tennis No27 has successfully transitioned into broadcasting with TNT and Sky Sports on their tennis coverage since her retirement from the sport in 2022.

But now she is being eyed for a role at this winter’s Ashes in Australia.

TNT are thought to have offered Robson an on-the-ground reporting role throughout the series.

However, SunSport understands a decision has not yet been made.

The Guardian has reported that former England cricket legend Sir Alastair Cook, 40, is also being lined up to join TNT’s coverage.

Cook, who won the Ashes twice during his playing days, is said to be in line to provide punditry from a studio in the UK and is not due to travel to Australia with the BBC’s Test Match Special.

Laura Robson has strong links to Australia, having been born in Melbourne to Aussie parents before moving to England at the age of six.

The junior Wimbledon champion and mixed doubles Olympic silver medallist worked for Sky at the US Open last month.

During her playing career she managed to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon and the US Open.

She retired in 2022, aged just 28, after battling with wrist and hip injuries throughout her career.
