Former QB reveals jaw-dropping comparison for Titans’ likely pick Cam Ward

The Tennessee Titans are almost a lock to take Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Ward has been expected to be the Titans’ pick for quite some time now.

On Monday during his Pro Day, Ward sent a bold message to Tennessee. He’s looking to lock up being their pick.

“I’m solidifying it today,” Ward said.

After his impressive season with the Hurricanes, Ward’s draft stock has jumped dramatically. There are many who believe that he can be a generational talent at the quarterback position.

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert, who played for a period of time for the Green Bay Packers, spoke out about Ward in a social media post on X. He dropped a jaw-dropping comparison for Ward.

Benkert, who played with Aaron Rodgers, said that Ward has “Aaron Rodgers-esque” arm talent.

Needless to say, that is an impressive statement. Benkert is not a household name for NFL fans, but he’s still a quarterback who made it to the NFL level. That is major praise for the young Miami quarterback.

During the 2024 college football season with the Hurricanes, Ward completed 67.2 percent of his pass attempts for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. He also chipped in with 204 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Ward’s future looks incredibly bright and it sure seems like that future will end up being with the Titans.
