DANI ALVES has swapped prison for the pulpit … by becoming a PREACHER.
The Barcelona legend spent 14 months on remand after being accused of raping a woman in a nightclub toilet.
Brazil right-back Alves received a four and a half year jail term in February 2024.
But Catalonia’s high court overturned the sentence in March.
The 42-year-old and wife Joana Sanz welcomed their first child into the world earlier this month.
And Alves has now sparked astonishment in Spain by delivering a sermon at a church in Girona.

Alves declared: “You must take God seriously and have faith. I am the living proof.
“What God promises, He delivers. I have agreed a pact with God.
“In the midst of turbulence and storms, there is always a messenger from God.
“This messenger gathered me up and brought me to the church.
“And now I am on the right path, thanks to him.”
Alves won 23 trophies with Barcelona, including three Champions League crowns and six LaLiga titles.
He also won major trophies with Sevilla, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain before ending his playing career in Mexico two years ago.
