Caitlin Clark has captured the minds and imaginations of so many across the sports world.

The influence of the second-year Indiana Fever star on the growth of women’s basketball at the college level at Iowa and now in the WNBA has been absolutely immense.

Her impact has extended far beyond the basketball court, including to the NHL’s unquestioned greatest player ever, Wayne Gretzky.

Gretzky recently took part in the Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights, and shared his thoughts on Clark.

“Look at Caitlin Clark, how she’s just taken over the country — and for that matter, maybe the world — in how she’s encouraged so many young girls now to participate in sports,” Gretzky said.

Then he added: “I just have so much respect for so many of these athletes that come along now, and as a fan, I just love it.”

Gretzky scored 894 goals and dished out an unfathomable 1,963 assists in his NHL career.

Clark is just in her second year in the WNBA, although she set a number of rookie records.

The staunchest Clark supporters would say she can end up as the greatest ever, too, but there’s quite a long way to go.

In the meantime, Clark will have to settle for being lauded by the greats, including The Great One.
