Triple Eight’s Broc Feeney and Will Brown have completed a day of dominance at Queensland Raceway, with two wins and a 1-2 finish.
Racing at the Ipswich circuit for the first time in six years, the two Chevrolet Camaros clearly were the cars to beat, with Feeney taking the opening race easily. In the second he looked on course to make it double until officials determined that he had crept by an inch or two at the start of the race, prompting them to hit the championship points leader with a five-second penalty.
As a result, Feeney returned to the track second, behind Brown. Try as he might, he could not find a way past the defending Champion, who had lost out in an early skirmish in the first 39-lap encounter, in which he finished fourth.
“Great to get a win finally, not really the way we wanted to do it,” said Brown, who took his first victory since the Albert Park round in March.

“I wasn’t going to let him past, that’s for sure. I knew if I let him get to my rear bar and his tyres heated up, he would struggle to get past me.
Feeney accepted his penalty magnanimously.
“I obviously didn’t do anything different but they said I was moving at the start. Fair enough,” said Feeney who, with the results, sealed the Sprint Cup section of the 2026 Championship, and thereby is seeded automatically into the inaugural Finals.
“I was able to get a bit of a gap at the start but Will was fast at the last one [stint].”
Third was a great result for Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Ryan Wood, backing up the same result in the opening race, after a particularly strong effort in the twin Qualifying sessions, starting the races from second and third on the grid. He made a solid getaway in the opening race but he dropped like a stone in the second, forcing him to fight his way onto the podium.
Anton De Pasquale was fourth for Team 18 ahead of Cameron Waters (Tickford Ford), who had a disastrous opening race after spearing off early.

In the opening race Feeney was the best to deal with a track that started out damp, to take the win after making his compulsory pitstop late in the race compared to his rivals. In a race that ended under a safety car after two cars speared off, a very impressive Kai Allen was second, his Grove Racing Mustang emerging from a three-car ruck early in the race to secure a career-best placing. Wood’s third place made it the youngest-ever podium in the history of the Touring Car/Supercars championship.
It was a tough day for Chaz Mostert. What might have been a good opening race from fourth on the grid ended before the green light, when he pitted with brake problems. In the second race he found himself stuck in a multi-car train before finishing strongly to get to seventh.
The results see Feeney extend his points lead. He is on 1918 points, 232 ahead of Brown, who is on 1686. Matt Payne is in third for Grove Racing on 1609, from Waters (1419), Mostert (1319) and Dick Johnson Racing’s Brodie Kostecki (1176).
The Supercars will be back on track on Sunday at 10:20am Brisbane time for a 30-minute qualifying session. There will be a Top 10 Shoot Out at 11:40am and the single, 63-lap race is due to start at 3:15pm.
