Fantasy Basketball High Score Perfect Lineup for February: Euroballers dominate this month

We’re almost to the finish line of the first season of Yahoo High Score fantasy basketball, with the playoffs just around the corner. If you’re prepping for the postseason or are fighting to get in, Yahoo fantasy basketball analyst Dan Titus has some great resources to help you out, including how to deal with major injuries to star players down the stretch.

Now, onto the perfect lineup for February. We had fewer games thanks to the All-Star break this past month, but of course, that didn’t stop players from topping out, including a trio of Euroballers. Let’s review the top fantasy scores from February with an outlook toward the postseason.

More on the top performers

Stephon Castle, guard: We rarely see Castle go for more than 50 fantasy points, let alone 80+ like he did against the Mavs almost a month ago. That’s the beauty of High Score, some players in the middle of the pack are always capable of giving you a week-winning performance. Castle may have a tough time getting to that ceiling game again this season with the Spurs running a tighter rotation and blowing teams out. Since that 88-point outing, Castle has played 30+ minutes in just one of the past seven games.

Cade Cunningham, guard: Cade has been a regular all season here and will likely end up in the final High Score perfect lineup at the end of the season. He’s making a strong case for MVP as the Pistons look to lock up the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference with 24 games left in the regular season. Though he hasn’t notched a triple-double since December, Cunningham’s scoring is back up at 25.4 points per game in February. Detroit has a tough slate of games to start March with the Magic, Cavaliers and Spurs on tap.

Nikola Jokić, frontcourt: The Joker’s extended absence in January will likely hold him back from being the top overall fantasy basketball asset this season. Or, he could have a stellar last few weeks of the fantasy regular season and boost himself back into the No. 1 spot. Certainly, games like his 94-point performance against the Dubs help, an insane 35-20-12 stat line. The key to his big performances down the stretch will be scoring and stocks.

Jarrett Allen, frontcourt: The Cavaliers’ big man started February with his best performance of the season, a career-high 40 points with 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 stocks for 85 fantasy points. Much of that had to do with Allen dominating a young Blazers frontcourt and the lack of secondary scoring options for Cleveland behind Donovan Mitchell. It’s unlikely Allen reaches this ceiling again with Evan Mobley working his way back to 100%. The Cavs could also clinch a playoff berth soon and decide to rest starters down the stretch.

Alperen Şengün, frontcourt: Şengün continues to be the “Diet Coke” version of Joker this season, operating as the Rockets’ main ball distributor. He finished the month of February averaging 6.3 assists per game and just over 2.6 stocks per game. Those stats are big in High Score and have helped Şengün hit his ceiling with 76 points this past week. With Houston still jockeying for position in the West playoff race, the big man should continue to be a strong asset going into the fantasy playoffs.

Luka Dončić, utility: We’re still missing the days of Luka throwing up 90-100 fantasy points in High Score. While that ceiling feels tough to achieve again, Dončić continues to be a top-10 fantasy performer this season. He only appeared in eight games during February, but topped 60 points four times, including 78 against the rival Clippers after the All-Star break. Dončić managers should feel good about him down the stretch. The Lakers still need to fight to stay clear of the play-in tournament, while Luka is also vying for the scoring title this season.
