Liverpool boss Arne Slot has picked a pretty strong team but the curveball is the selection of Rio Ngumoha.

At 16 years and 135 days old, the former Chelsea Academy star will become the youngest player to start a game for the Reds. Ngumoha is mainly a left winger, which is where he is likely to play today, but can also function in left midfield or even on the opposite flank.

The England under-17 international was named on the first-team bench for the Carabao Cup tie at Southampton, but it is still a surprise to see him in the first 11.

He has started only three games in the under-18 Premer League since arriving from Chelsea last summer.
