F1 Qatar GP – Start time, how to watch & more

Oscar Piastri will start the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix from pole position after also taking the sprint victory earlier in the weekend.

The McLaren driver has trimmed Lando Norris’ world championship advantage to 22 points thanks to his sprint win coupled with his team-mate finishing third.

But Sunday’s grand prix will be the crunch moment, with Norris mathematically able to seal the title if he wins the grand prix. Here’s the full title permutations for Norris to secure the championship this weekend:

Max Verstappen remains a threat despite slipping to 25 points behind Norris, knowing that he must finish ahead of the British driver just to keep his title hopes alive going into the Abu Dhabi GP finale.

The defending champion will start from third on the grid with George Russell, second in the sprint race, alongside him in fourth.

The 23rd round of the 2025 F1 campaign, the Qatar GP, starts at 4pm GMT/7pm local time on Sunday 30 November.

How can I watch Formula 1?

The United Kingdom’s F1 live broadcast rights belong to Sky Sports, which means the action is also available via streaming site Sky Go or NOW.

Sky Sports F1 costs £20 each month, but can also form part of a membership that includes all Sky Sports channels at £22. NOW offers a day membership at £14.99, or a monthly subscription at £31.99.

Highlights, meanwhile, are on Channel 4 which broadcasts its programme several hours after the action on a Saturday and Sunday.


How can I watch the F1 Qatar GP?

The Qatar GP is available to watch on Sky Sports for those in the United Kingdom. The race is live on Sky Sports F1, whose coverage begins at 2:30pm GMT ahead of 4pm lights out.

Autosport will also provide live text commentary of the Qatar GP.

Where can I watch highlights of the F1 Qatar GP?

Channel 4 will broadcast a 2.5-hour highlight programme of the Qatar GP which begins at 9pm GMT on Sunday 30 November.

Will the F1 Qatar GP be on the radio?

BBC Radio 5 Live, 5 Live Sports Extra, the BBC Sounds app and the BBC Sport website have all provided radio coverage of the 2025 F1 campaign. Coverage of the Qatar GP is available via BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 from 4pm GMT.

What is the weather forecast for the F1 Qatar GP?

Doha is expected to remain dry and warm throughout Sunday, with the temperature at 24C for the start of the race at 7pm local time. There is no chance of rain and a gentle northerly breeze.
