Eze extraordinary and Hincapie seamlessly replaces Gabriel but Zubimendi at fault for Spurs goal

ARSENAL destroyed Tottenham with a score of 4-1 thanks to a historic hat-trick from Eberechi Eze at the Emirates.

Eze, 27, became the first player to score three goals in a single North London derby during the 21st century.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for the Gunners just nine minutes before half-time.

Eze got his first only five minutes after Trossard’s opener and pretty much sealed the three points for the Premier League leaders just a few seconds into the second half.

Spurs thought they could return to the fold after Richarlison’s stunner from 40 yards on 55 minutes, but the England international wouldn’t be denied his well-deserved hat-trick with a fine finish in the 76th minute.

But who else stood out for Arsenal other than Eze? SunSport’s Charlie Wyett rates ever single one of Mikel Arteta’s players:

STRIKE IT RICH

Watch Tottenham star Richarlison score ‘goal of the season’ from miles out

PROTECTOR

Why is Tottenham star Randal Kolo Muani wearing a jaw protector vs Arsenal?

DAVID RAYA – 6

Little to do and should have brought his Playstation to keep busy. You could not really blame him for Tottenham‘s goal as it was such a terrific finish by Richarlison.

JURRIEN TIMBER – 8

Enjoying the season of his career and this was another outstanding performance. Played a part in the first three Arsenal goals.

WILLIAM SALIBA – 7

There is more responsibility on his shoulders due to Gabriel Magalhaes’ injury but he is a natural leader and coped with everything Spurs could throw at him.

PIERO HINCAPIE – 8

This was his first start in the Premier League but the Ecuador international looked as though he had been playing here for years. Gabriel who?

RICCARDO CALAFIORI – 7

He was a doubt before the game after suffering an injury with Italy, but another solid performance and he should be getting more credit than he has done.

MARTIN ZUBIMENDI – 7

Spoilt an otherwise excellent performance when he was dispossessed by a tackle from Rodrigo Bentancur, although no one could have expected that Richarlison would score his stunning goal from distance.

DECLAN RICE – 7

Playing at such a high level as this is good for both Arsenal and England. He seemed to be absolutely everywhere and with one exception, his crossing and passing was brilliant.

Was at the centre of some handbags stuff at the end for his foul on Xavi Simons, although he did also seem to leave a knee on his opponent’s head. .

EBERECHI EZE – 9

A day he will never forget. His only Premier League goal for Arsenal had been against former club Crystal Palace so it was inevitable he would score at least one against the club he nearly joined. The fact he got a hat-trick was extraordinary.

BUKAYO SAKA – 7

Strong performance, summed up by when he won the ball off Wilson Odobert to create the move for the third goal. He was also denied a goal with a good save by Guglielmo Vicario.

LEANDRO TROSSARD – 7

Scored the first goal although got a bit lucky as his shot took a big deflection off Micky van de Ven. Leandro Trossard has done so well this term as summed up by his part for the fourth goal.

MIKEL MERINO – 7

Brilliant pass for the opening goal while he worked so hard. You have to give Mikel Merino a hell of a lot of credit for adapting to the central striker role and his pass to Eberechi Eze for the fourth was also class.

SUBS:

NONI MADUEKE (for Trossard, 78 mins) – 6

ETHAN NWANERI (for Merino, 88 mins) – 5

CRISTHIAN MOSQUERA (for Hincapie, 88 mins) – 5

MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY (for Calafiori, 93 mins mins) – 5

SUBS NOT USED:

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben White, Gabriel Martinelli, Christian Norgaard, Max Dowman.
