One of the country’s rising basketball stars is the son of a long-time NFL stalwart.
He may not make it to the Dallas Cowboys like his father, but you’ll hear plenty about this name anyway.
Marcus Spears Jr. is a 6-foot-9, 5-star recruit in the high school basketball class of 2027. According to the 247Sports composite ranking, Spears is the eighth-ranked prospect in the entire country in his class.
He’s the son of long-time Cowboys defensive lineman Marcus Spears, who is now an ESPN analyst.
A recent highlight video going viral on social media of Spears Jr. is super impressive.
He’s a smooth, lanky lefty with handle and a soft touch. Take a look:

Among the college offers for Spears Jr. is LSU, which is where his dad played college football.
His offer list also includes SMU, Stanford and Oklahoma State. It’s a safe bet that in this summer heading into his junior year, that’ll grow exponentially.
Spears Jr. plays his high school ball for Dynamic Prep in Dallas.
Soon enough, he’ll likely be taking his talents to one of the top programs in the country, just like his father did many years ago on the gridiron.
