After kicking off the year with two straight road losses in Detroit and Arizona, Rams fans should feel good about their 6-6 record 13 weeks into the season.

Not only does Sean McVay’s side have a legitimate chance to secure a Wild Card spot in the NFC, but there’s also a chance the Rams take home the NFC West crown if they can somehow build on last week’s come-from-behind win over the Saints.

It was far from a perfect day under the Superdome roof, but encouragingly, rookie Jared Verse stepped up when it mattered most in the 21-14 win, while Kyren Williams ignited the offense on the ground with over 100 rushing yards.

With five games left to play, the road ahead doesn’t get any easier with the red-hot Buffalo Bills in town this week – a side the Rams haven’t faced since they lost 31-10 at home only two years earlier.

Sean McVay already heaped praise on MVP favorite Josh Allen during the week, but if the Rams were to somehow pull off an unthinkable upset, their playoff odds would drastically increase to 34%, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

On the flip side, should the Rams lose and fall to 6-7, their playoff odds would sink as low as 16% – a dramatic blow for a team set to embark on the 10th toughest remaining schedule.

Aside from this week’s game against the Bills, back to back games against Arizona and Seattle round out the schedule following tough road trips to San Francisco and New York.

In typical NFC West fashion, it’s likely the Rams’ fate will boil down to those final two games, but we could see their playoff chances swing in either direction this coming Sunday with the Cardinals hosting the Seahawks in the late afternoon time slot.
