EMMA RADUCANU has released a two-word statement after her Porsche was “taken back” by the car manufacturer.
The tennis star, 21, had been handed a £125,000 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet under a lucrative sponsorship with the luxury motor brand which began in 2022.
However, last month Raducanu saw her pride and joy taken from her after the company “took it back”.
One of her associates is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “Emma no longer has a Porsche.
“They took it back. It used to have pride of place at her home.”
A Porsche spokesperson later confirmed this was the case, with the company handing out cars on an ad hoc basis.
But she issued a statement on her Instagram story to give fans an update on the situation.
On her page – followed by 2.5 million fans – she took a picture of a Porsche parked in a bay with the caption: “Good day.”
It was reported last week how she had now been seen driving a new Porsche, which ended fears she had lost her sponsorship with them.
However, this came days after she saw a £100,000 freebie also taken back.
Porsche has a history of suddenly pulling the plug on sponsorship deals they do not feel are value for money, including when athletes are not meeting expectations.
Raducanu shot to fame after winning the US Open in 2021 as an 18-year-old.
She has been plagued by various injuries and has not played since the Korea Open WTA 250 event in September, where she sprained ligaments in her foot.
This forced her to withdraw from the China Open, Wuhan Open, Ningbo Open, Guangzhou Open and the Hong Kong Open.
British No2 Raducanu is in Great Britain’s squad of five players for the Billie Jean King Cup which will commence in Spain on November 15.
Ahead of the tournament, her team said: “Emma is training well and being with the team next week is her focus.”
