Saquon Barkley just ran his way into the MVP conversation.
With the Eagles in Los Angeles to play the Rams, Philadelphia’s running back carried the load with two touchdowns and 302 total yards as Philadelphia cruised to a 37-20 victory. The win improves the Eagles to 9-2 as they chase the 10-1 Lions in the NFC standings, while the Rams fall to 5-6.
Barkley was the story of the night, as the veteran had two big touchdown runs, one for 70 yards out of halftime and another for 72 yards to ice the game. In total, Barkley accumulated 255 rushing yards, a career high and the most in a game by any running back since 2009, along with 47 receiving yards. On the year, Barkley has 1,392 rushing yards, officially the most he’s had in a season since entering the league.

While the Rams took an early 7-3 lead, Philadelphia’s defense settled in and didn’t allow Matthew Stafford (24-for-36, 243 yards, two TDs) to get comfortable. The Eagles sacked Stafford five times, many in crucial moments, as the Rams couldn’t find success outside of the Stafford-to-Puka Nacua connection (9-117). Cooper Kupp (8-60, TD) tacked on a garbage-time score.
The Eagles scored four touchdowns on the night, two by Barkley, one by Kenneth Gainwell (5-22, TD), and one on a Jalen Hurts pass to A.J. Brown (6-109, TD). Hurts needed just 179 passing yards in the game, with the vasty majority going to Brown as Devonta Smith missed the game with a hamstring injury.
For the Rams, Stafford tried to keep up, but it wasn’t enough. Los Angeles, however, is still just one game back of first place in a tight NFC West, as all four teams are either 6-5 or 5-6.
