Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins were unable to get into the playoffs last season. After a tough all-around year, the Dolphins finished the season with an 8-9 record.
Heading into the offseason, Miami was looking to make some moves to get back into contention. A lot of their problem in 2024 was due to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missing action once again.
So far this offseason, the Dolphins have made a couple of solid moves. They went out and signed wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, offensive lineman James Daniels, and quarterback Zach Wilson.
Looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft, Miami still has work to do. It could be among the teams active in trade discussions.
Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has come out that would see the Dolphins pull off a major trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Ryan Heckman of Lombardi Ave has predicted a deal that would have Miami trading down from No. 13 in the first round with the Packers. In exchange, the Dolphins would receive pick No. 23, a 2026 second-round pick, and pick No. 125 in this year’s draft.

Trading down and bringing in some extra draft capital would not be a bad idea. They would still get a quality player with the No. 23 overall pick and would add an important second-round pick for next offseason.
An additional fourth-round pick this year would also give them a chance to add a cheaper young player.
Miami will need to get aggressive if it wants to be a contender in the AFC next season. McDaniel and company have a talented roster already, but more quality depth was clearly needed last year.
Expect to see the Dolphins remain active ahead of the NFL Draft, which is scheduled to begin with the first round on April 24.
