FOOTBALL fans have slammed NFL icon and Birmingham City co-owner Tom Brady for his comments on Wayne Rooney’s work ethic.
Brady said he was “a little worried” about the Manchester United legend’s approach to coaching in a fly-on-the-wall documentary series following the League One champions.
Speaking to his business manager Ben Rawitz, the 47-year-old claimed: “I’m a little worried about our head coach’s work ethic.”
Rawitz then responded: “A little too lackadaisical?”
It came after Brady had shared his own experiences in the NFL with Rooney while at the training ground.
The legendary quarterback appointed Rooney to replace John Eustace at St Andrew’s in October 2023 with Birmingham sixth in the Championship table.
However, he was sacked three months later after winning just two out of 15 games.
The Blues had dropped down to 20th by the time Rooney left.
Despite his disappointing tenure at Birmingham, fans have jumped to the ex-striker’s defence following Brady’s comments.
One person said: “I think Brady needs to stay in his lane.”
Another commented: “Zero class from Brady.”
A third wrote: “It’s the Tom Brady show, shame he has no class and no idea of the game.”
While a fourth joked: “Does Brady need a job on the bins to demonstrate his work ethic?”
