Devin Haney Dismisses WBO Champ Brian Norman Jr. as Unproven Ahead of November 22nd Riyadh Showdown at ANB Arena

Devin Haney says Brian Norman Jr’s resume is filled with unknown fighters, and he’s never fought at the “highest level.” He believes his experience will be too much for WBO welterweight champion Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) when they fight on November 22nd at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

Haney is correct that Brian Jr. hasn’t fought at the highest level, but there’s not much talent for him to fight at 147. He wanted to fight Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, but his promoter, Eddie Hearn, balked when it came to meeting his asking price.

Norman Jr’s Toughest Opponents

– Jin Sasaki
– Derrieck Cuevas
– Giovani Santillan
– Quinton Randall
– Janelson Figueroa Bocachica

Some of those fighters would be tough outs for Haney. He would have to use a lot of movement to beat most of them.

Norman Jr. Resume Questioned

“I don’t know nobody that he fought. I never knocked out nobody at the top. I know he’s going to say, ‘You’re going to be the first one.’ Yeah, okay. It sounds good. We’ve heard this before,” said Devin Haney during today’s press conference, talking about WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. for their fight on November 22nd.

“He’s never done this at the highest level. I’ve been at the highest level for seven or eight years now.”

It doesn’t matter that Norman Jr. hasn’t beaten fighters at the highest level. He’s destroyed most of the ones he’s fought, and you can tell that he has power that would be pure trouble for Haney if he lands. Norman would beat everyone that Haney’s fought, including Ryan Garcia.

“Actions speak louder than words. Come November, I’m about to prove that,” said Norman Jr. in response.

Haney’s Top Wins

– Vasily Lomachenko
– Regis Prograis
– Jose Ramirez
– Yuriorkis Gamboa
– Joseph Diaz Jr.
– George Kambosos Jr
– Jorge Linares
– Alfredo Santiago
– Antonio Moran
– Zaur Abdullaev
