Just as Saquon Barkley has done for the Eagles, the Ravens’ offseason acquisition of star running back Derrick Henry continues to pay off in massive ways.

Baltimore inked Henry to a two-year, $18 million deal after the 2023 season, hoping that the former Titan, one of the largest and most durable backs the league has ever seen, would make a deadly pairing with quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Following yet another huge performance from Henry in a 34-17 win over the Steelers in Week 16, the 30-year-old back has been just as dominant as advertised throughout 2024.

Henry played a big role in the Ravens’ divisional win Saturday, lifting the offense with his physicality. Here’s a look at his highlights and final numbers vs. Pittsburgh in Week 16, plus an updated look at Henry’s total stats this season.

Derrick Henry’s big day lifts Ravens over Steelers

Defenses have been challenged with picking their poison against the Ravens’ offense all season between Jackson’s arm talent and rushing ability plus Henry’s up-the-middle, physical running style.

In some weeks, Jackson has taken the spotlight — but on Saturday, it was Henry’s turn to shine, as he set the tone in Baltimore’s win.

In a cold Baltimore environment, Henry accounted for 45.2% of his team’s total yards. Jackson did toss a pair of touchdown passes, but the Ravens relied heavily on their star running back to get down the field on multiple occasions. For one example, Henry ripped off a 44-yard run in the fourth quarter, although that drive resulted in an interception.

Jackson’s third-quarter touchdown pass to Mark Andrews and a Marlon Humphrey pick-six made the difference for Baltimore on the scoreboard. Still, as Henry became the first NFL running back at least 30-years old to run for over 1,500 yards in a season since Tiki Barber in 2006, he helped lift the Ravens to their 10th win of the season.

Derrick Henry 2024 stats

Henry’s Week 16 performance was just another in what’s become an outstanding season. The Eagles have yet to play in Week 16, but Henry now trails Barkley by 52 rushing yards for the NFL lead. Baltimore’s running back is also tied with Buffalo’s James Cook for the second-most rushing touchdowns in the league (13), trailing only Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (14).

While his career-high of 2,027 rushing yards (set in 2020 with the Titans) is likely too high to reach with just two games remaining, Henry already has the second-highest single-season rushing total of his career in 2024. He’s rushed for over 1,000 yards in six different seasons over his NFL career.

Here’s a look at Henry’s full 2024 numbers following Saturday’s matchup:
