The Denver Broncos should be looking to upgrade the safety position this offseason and there is a chance they could look for one in free agency and the draft.

After moving on from Justin Simmons and Caden Sterns last offseason, the Broncos signed Brandon Jones in free agency. He had a terrific first year in the Mile High City. But many fans and multiple analysts feel the team needs an upgrade over P.J. Locke at the other safety spot.

Could the Las Vegas Raiders have a player who could provide that answer? Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team seems to think so.

While listing one player that every team should sign in free agency, he believes the Broncos should target Raiders safety Tre’von Moehrig.

Moehrig was a second-round pick out of TCU in 2021 and has been a solid piece for Vegas ever since. He has 297 total tackles, six interceptions and three sacks in his young career thus far.

Could the Broncos target Trevon Moehrig in free agency?

At just 25 years old, Moehrig should have plenty of great football left in him. If the Broncos signed him, it would also be weakening the roster of their arch-rival at the same time.

However, a potential deal would likely be costly. According to Spotrac, Moehrig has a perceived market value of about $15.7 million annually. That would be a hefty contract, especially when you consider the Broncos signed Jones to a 3-year, $20 million deal.

Moehrig is a name for fans to keep in mind, but there will likely be more affordable options in free agency and plenty of options to consider in the draft.
