Curmel Moton Embraces The Role Of Franchise Player For Mayweather Promotions

On a fight card that’s co-headlined by Jermall Charlo and Caleb Plant, rising star prospect Curmel Moton is set to compete on the undercard as he will face Renny Mastrapa (4-1-1, 2 KOs) on Saturday night, May 31st, at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

Curmel Moton is a prodigy who has all the tools, and he’s also mature beyond his years. He has been a professional boxer for approximately a year and a half now, and he’s gradually making the transition from prospect to contender.

When Gervonta “Tank” Davis was a star on the rise, as he trained at the Mayweather gym, you could always see a young kid in the background. Now that Davis has separated himself from Mayweather Promotions, that kid has become the face of the company.

As an amateur, Curmel Moton posted a record of (144-6), and he won 18 national titles. He made his pro debut back in September 2023 when he defeated Ezequiel Flores by way of first-round TKO.

After securing two first-round knockout victories in his first two fights, Moton went the distance in his third bout when he scored a decision victory over Anthony Cuba. Moton would go on to start a new knockout streak as he has stopped his last four opponents.

Now the 18-year-old Curmel “Big Deal” Moton (7-0, 6 KOs) is ready to step back inside the squared circle and make a statement. Moton wants to make a statement because he has embraced the role of the franchise player.

After Gervonta Davis relinquished his franchise position within the company, Mayweather Promotions proceeded to move forward with a youth movement. The youth movement features the signings of young fighters who are destined to be future world champions.

In addition to Curmel Moton, the revamped Mayweather Promotions roster includes names such as 18-year-old Joseph “The Prodigy” Brown, 21-year-old Jursly “The Gorilla” Vargas, and 22-year-old John “Candyman” Easter.

As the current franchise player for Mayweather Promotions, Curmel Moton is a top-rated prospect who wants to fight the other top prospects, but he understands that he has to stay patient and take it one fight at a time.

Currently, Moton is locked in on his May 31st opponent. Once he gets beyond Mastrapa, he will turn his attention to the other top prospects on his radar.

During an interview with Sean Zittel, Curmel Moton stated that after his fight on May 31st, he wants all the smoke. The names on Moton’s hit list include Amado Vargas (13-0, 6 KOs), Abel Mendoza (42-0, 31 KOs), and Giorgio Visioli (7-0, 6 KOs).
