Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs wants to follow in footsteps of LeBron James, Ken Griffey Sr.

Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs wants to follow in footsteps of LeBron James, Ken Griffey Sr.

Trevon Diggs is still rehabbing from a season-ending injury but that hasn’t stopped him from looking toward the future.

The Cowboys’ cornerback appeared on a stream from popular streamer ‘Neon’ and revealed he has a lofty goal for his career.

Diggs said that his son, Aaiden, expressed interest in playing in the NFL with his dad. It’s an achievement celebrated most recently by LeBron James after his first son, Bronny, took the floor for the Lakers this season.

“I’ll try to get my LeBron James on,” Diggs said.

Just like LeBron, Diggs would likely have to play into his 40’s to play alongside his son.

Aaiden is eight years old while his father Trevon is 26. Aaiden would have to be three years removed from high school to be drafted in the NFL which would put Trevon at nearly 40 years old.

The timing of this revelation from Diggs is ironic as he is recovering from an ongoing knee injury that ended his season early last year.

Even if Diggs could recover from his ailing knee and get back to full health, it would still be a battle to remain in the league for another dozen years. He also plays one of the hardest positions in the league, cornerback, which adds an additional challenge to the goal.

But if he could pull it off, Diggs would join legends like LeBron and Ken Griffey Sr. on a short list of fathers who shared the bright lights with their sons.

It’s not likely, but it could motivate Diggs to come back better and stronger than ever.
