Cowboys’ fans had dreams of getting a receiver to partner with CeeDee Lamb early in the draft.
Instead, they got reinforcements in the trenches.
Like a kid craving chocolate and being fed vegetables, Dallas fans were disappointed.
But Jerry Jones and company still managed pick up a few new weapons for Dak Prescott after the draft.
The Cowboys agreed to terms with nine undrafted free agents. Let’s take a look at the four pass catchers from that group.
Undrafted free agents that the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with:
Traeshon Holden, WR, Oregon
Josh Kelly, WR, Texas Tech
Tyler Neville, TE, Virginia
Rivaldo Fairweather, TE, Auburn
Justin Barron, LB, Syracuse
Zion Childress, DB, Kentucky

Traeshon Holden – WR, Oregon
Traeshon Holden is the most likely player to be catching passes from Dak Prescott in the regular season. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds.
The Oregon product had a career year last season, catching 45 passes for 718 yards and five touchdowns.
He spent the last two years at Oregon after playing his first three years at Alabama.
There’s one big reason he could make the final roster. The Cowboys’ wide receiver coach, Junior Adams, coached Holden at Oregon. It could give the rookie an inside track on making the final 53-man roster over some other borderline wideouts.
Josh Kelly – WR, Texas Tech
Josh Kelly is a slim wide receiver at 6-foot-1, 186 pounds.
He played at Fresno State for four years, Washington State for one, and finished last year at Texas Tech. He had 89 catches for 1,023 yards and five touchdowns as a Red Raider.
His final game was impressive as he went for nine catches and 150 yards in a win over West Virginia.
The Cowboys wide receiver depth chart is deep at the bottom. Between Ryan Flournoy, Jalen Brooks, Parris Campbell, and Jonathan Mingo, there’s a lot of competition for the final few spots. That’s with the assumption that CeeDee Lamb, Jalen Tolbert, and Kavonte Turpin will be the top three receivers entering the season.
It could be tough for either of these rookies to make the final roster.

Rivaldo Fairweather – TE, Auburn
Rivaldo Fairweather could have more value protecting Prescott than running routes for him.
At 6-foot-3, 242 pounds, the Auburn product could make the roster as tight end for heavy packages. His best season as a pass catcher was 2023 when he caught 38 passes for 394 yards and six touchdowns.
He spent three years at Florida International before finishing his final two seasons at Auburn.
The Cowboys have a deep group of tight ends. Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker are nearly locks to make the final roster. John Stephens Jr., Brevyn Spann-Ford, and Princeton Fant are all outside candidates to earn a spot.
Tyler Neville – TE, Virginia
Tyler Neville was a good player at Harvard before going to Virginia in his senior season. He finished last year with 37 receptions for 394 yards and two touchdowns.
Neville was the Cavaliers’ second-leading receiver last season.
He could be another player like Fairweather who makes the team for his blocking and contributions on special teams.
