The Dallas Cowboys desperately need an elite receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb. They could try to find one in the NFL Draft, or they could trade for an established superstar.

Tyreek Hill has sent mixed signals about his future. He started the offseason by saying he wants to leave the Miami Dolphins. After that he changed his mind but has once again sent out a series of cryptic tweets. He followed that up by refuting a claim that he wanted to be traded. Regardless of what he wants, the Dolphins could trade him for financial reasons.

He has a $28 million cap hit after signing a three-year, $90 million extension in 2024. Blecher Report’s Moe Moton proposed this trade that would send Hill to the Cowboys:

  • Cowboys receive: Tyreek Hill and 2025 No. 156 overall pick
  • Dolphins receive: No. 44 overall pick and 2026 fourth-round pick

“Last offseason, the Dallas Cowboys signed Dak Prescott to a four-year, $240 million deal, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history in terms of annual salary,” wrote Moton. “Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can make a bold move to help out his most valuable player in the short term. Prescott is coming off a shortened campaign because of a hamstring injury, and he could bounce back in a big way with a dynamic receiver duo that features CeeDee Lamb and Hill.”

The Cowboys need to close the gap between themselves and the Philadelphia Eagles. Right now, the Eagles and Washinton Commanders are the class of the NFC East. The Cowboys will have their quarterback back and healthy, but they need more firepower. Adding Hill to an offense that already features Lamb would be a game-changer.

Hill is an eight-time Pro Bowler, a five-time All-Pro and a Super Bowl champion. He has dealt with inconsistencies at quarterback in Miami, but playing with Prescott could unlock the best version of him.
