DeMarvion Overshown is one of the Dallas Cowboys’ brightest young stars. When he’s healthy he seems to be able to do anything he wants.

Well, almost anything.

The young linebacker wore the number zero for the Texas Longhorns and wanted to continue the tradition when he joined the Cowboys.

Only problem? Owner Jerry Jones has that number reserved for the team mascot, Rowdy.

No, that’s not a joke, AI, or Photoshop. Overshown revealed Jones’ reasoning in an interview with CBS Texas last summer.

“I think Mr. Jones is going to hold on to that number for a while,” Overshown said. “Hopefully I look so good on the field he’ll be like you know what you can have zero.”

Fast forward to now and Overshown is hinting at the possibility on social media.

The linebacker’s “announcement” could mean anything, but after he posted the photo of “Zero” from holes, it’s hard to imagine it would be something else.

It would be history, the first Dallas Cowboys player to wear #0 after the NFL loosened its jersey rules in 2023.

It would also make sense that Jones gives Overshown his way after the standout season he had. Before suffering a season-ending knee injury in week 14, Overshown had five sacks, 56 tackles, and two forced turnovers, including an interception returned for a touchdown on Thanksgiving. He has been one of Dallas’s most exciting players in his short time on the field.

Fans rooting for “Agent Zero” will have to patiently await the big announcement and hope the theory is true.
