The NFL draft is nearly here, and the Dallas Cowboys have yet to make a decision on the future of Micah Parsons. Parsons is under contract, but looking for a long-term extension, things might get ugly if the Cowboys don’t come to an agreement on a deal.
Parsons has stated that he’ll show up to everything the Cowboys have over the next few months before the season, but at some point, frustration could set in, and that’s the last thing Jerry Jones wants.
When speaking to reporters about the contract situation, quarterback Dak Prescott had plenty to say. Prescott is a fan of Parsons, and rightfully so, given the Penn State product is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL.
“Very confident in [Micah Parsons] and what he can do,” Prescott said, per NFL.com. “Who he is and what he wants to is as important as anything. And that’s in being a leader.”
Regarding his potential contract, Prescott understands better than anyone that having a contract on your mind is never ideal, and urged the youngster to stay positive throughout it all.

“I don’t have the full answer for it or I think all of mine would’ve been done a lot earlier than they were,” Prescott said with a laugh. “For him, just stay positive. Understand and make sure that his team knows what he wants and what he believes.”
Parsons, who would be a force for this Cowboys team over the next decade plus, could be looking at the biggest extension for a non-quarterback in NFL history.
If Jones wants to continue to keep him in town, there will be a massive price tag that comes along with it.
