Cowboys could soon land 4-time Pro Bowl wide receiver for Dak Prescott

Cowboys could soon land 4-time Pro Bowl wide receiver for Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys have not addressed their need for a wide receiver yet this offseason. They could find one in the draft, but there is one free agent still available who could make sense.

Last season the Cowboys’ lack of receiver talent behind CeeDee Lamb was evident. The Cowboys have lacked a reliable No.2 option since they traded Amari Cooper. CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin tabbed Stefon Diggs as a potential fit for the Cowboys.

“Dallas reportedly tried to land Cooper Kupp before the ex-Los Angeles Rams star joined the Seahawks, so they’d clearly like to install a route-running savant opposite CeeDee Lamb,” wrote Benjamin. “Diggs is aging, but he’s been just that for much of his career. His brother, Trevon Diggs, also plays for the Cowboys.”

Diggs is a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. Last season he tore his ACL after a decent start with the Houston Texans. He had eclipsed 1,000 yards in six straight seasons going into last year. He may not be the player he once was, but can be a great No.2 option for Dak Prescott.

He is just one season removed from a Pro Bowl campaign and could be extra motivated to show he can still play after his injury. That paired with the opportunity to wear the same uniform as his brother could make the Cowboys an ideal landing spot. Spotrac projects him to sign a one-year, $13 million deal this offseason.
