The Dallas Cowboys and whoever they hire as their head coach will be looking to make it back to the playoffs. The Cowboys offense could look to add another playmaker on offense to help get the unit back on track.

Dak Prescott’s injury essentially derailed the Cowboys season. However, even with Prescott as a starter, the Cowboys were 3-5. They could look to add another weapon next to CeeDee Lamb to give him some more help. Sports Illustrated’s Koby Skillern urged the Cowboys to target DeAndre Hopkins in free agency.

“The Cowboys have two wide receivers set to hit free agency, making the signing of a wide receiver a top priority this offseason,” wrote Skillern. “Outside of CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ receiving corps is still young and developing. Adding a veteran like DeAndre Hopkins would not only provide a reliable target but also offer valuable mentorship to these up-and-coming players. Hopkins still has plenty left in the tank, recording 56 catches for 610 yards and five touchdowns this past season.”

Hopkins is a 3-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler. This season he was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Kansas City Chiefs. He is not having his best season but is still a productive player. He is just one season removed from a 1,000-yard campaign with less-than-ideal quarterback play.

Hopkins can be a solid No. 2 option for the Cowboys. He has a reliable pair of hands and should be relatively cheap.
