The Seattle Seahawks had a depleted wide receivers room in the wake of trading away DK Metcalf and cutting Tyler Lockett, but general manager John Schneider changed that on Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are signing former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp to a three-year, $45 million contract. There is no word on guarantees yet.
Kupp was cut loose by the Rams on Wednesday after eight years. Los Angeles attempted to trade the former Super Bowl MVP but couldn’t find a suitable deal.
The first thing to point out here is how Kupp will now be able to exact his revenge against the Rams twice in 2025, and quite possibly for the next three seasons.
The contract, along with the Washington native being able to go home, were likely the biggest reasons for Kupp going to Seattle.
But having a chance to show the Rams they made a mistake is the icing on the cake.
Cooper Kupp did in fact want revenge twice a year against his former team.

Kupp was none-too-pleased when the Rams first told him that they intended to trade him back in February, feelings he made public on social media.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships,” Kupp’s wrote. “I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.
“Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember,” Kupp concluded.

When it comes to the Seahawks’ offense, Kupp is a massive upgrade.
After unloading Metcalf and Lockett, Sam Darnold was looking at a group headlined by Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was just signed in free agency.
Kupp has battled injuries over the past three seasons but remains an effective receiver when on the field. He works primarily from the slot, just like his new running mate, but Kupp and JSN can operate from the outside, also.

The biggest concern with this deal is Kupp’s injury history and the contract he’s getting. We’ll have to wait to see the details, but one would assume there isn’t a ton of guaranteed money.
We’ll find out when Kupp will get his games against the Rams when the NFL releases the full schedule in May.
