Commanders trade proposal adds Mark Andrews from Ravens for Jayden Daniels

Commanders trade proposal adds Mark Andrews from Ravens for Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders will be looking to take a leap in 2025 after an NFC Championship game appearance in 2024, and a trade for Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews could be the move that catapults Dan Quinn’s squad into the upper echelon of Super Bowl contenders.

Last Word on Sports’ Anthony Palacios lists the Commanders as a top trade destination for Andrews, who has been involved in trade rumors this offseason.

“Even though they’re also bringing back Zach Ertz for at least one more season, they could continue to bolster the tight end unit to provide some relief for Ertz. Andrews is probably no longer a starter in this league anymore, and it might be helpful to pair with one of the most dangerous tight ends in the NFC, since both of these athletes pairing up would be a problem for opposing defenses this upcoming season,” Palacios wrote.

Andrews is entering the final year of his deal in 2025, and Baltimore already has his replacement on the roster in Isaiah Likely, so trading the veteran tight end would be a logical move.

Washington could use more reliable playmakers for ascending quarterback Jayden Daniels. Adding Andrews to be a security blanket and dynamic red zone threat for Daniels would be a savvy move from general manager Adam Peters.

The Commanders have the draft capital to facilitate a trade for Andrews and also have the cap space in the future to sign him to a new deal if he earns it.

Acquiring the multiple-time Pro Bowl tight end from the Ravens is a move Washington could make to bolster the offense and their chances of dethroning the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.
