Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders predicted to be drafted by declining NFC South franchise

The NFL Draft is just three Thursdays away, and anything can happen when it comes to who will be selected with the first pick. As of now, Miami’s Cam Ward is the presumed first pick, heading to the Tennessee Titans.

Following Ward, generational talent Travis Hunter is expected to be drafted, though it could very well be someone else. It all depends on which franchise is willing to let the two-way player showcase his talents on both sides of the ball. The biggest question, however, revolves around his Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders.

The quarterback recently met with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are in dire need of a QB, though their pick isn’t until later in the first round.

“On paper, the Steelers would be an interesting fit for Sanders. The team desperately needs a starting quarterback after losing Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in free agency. Currently, Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only passers on the roster,” wrote Bryce Lazenby.

At the Colorado Pro Day, representatives from the Titans were seen speaking with Deion Sanders. Speculation suggests this conversation could have been about either Hunter or Sanders being drafted No. 1 overall.

However, ESPN’s Mel Kiper has Sanders falling within the top 10, potentially landing with one of the NFC South’s most declining teams. With the No. 9 pick, Kiper predicts the New Orleans Saints will select Sanders. Currently, Spencer Rattler and Derek Carr are the two quarterbacks on the roster, but it seems Carr could be pushed out by the Saints.

Sanders to the Saints is not out of the question, especially if the New York Giants decide not to draft him. While there’s a possibility Sanders could end up in New York, Kiper finds it more reasonable that he will go later in the top 10. Regardless of where he lands, Sanders is confident in his abilities, believing he will be great no matter what.
