After getting drafted by the Cardinals, Kirk signed a four-year, $5.89 contract with Arizona. In March of 2022, he signed a four-year, $72 million contract, which is where the majority of his $64,065,690 career earnings came from, per Sportrac.

In Feb. 2023, the Jags converted $14.42 million of his 2023 salary into a signing bonus, which cleared $11.5 in cap space. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Jags were planning on releasing Kirk on March 5, a day before he was traded.

In Houston, Kirk will join a receiving corps featuring Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Stefon Diggs and John Metchie III. The Texans will have to decide whether to trade or keep Diggs, who is coming off of an ACL tear. After acquiring Diggs from the Bills, the Texans eliminated the last three years of his contract. Dell is also coming off of an ACL injury, having surgery on the injured knee on March 5.

Although Kirk has his own injury history, the Texans can likely expect him to be more ready to play by Week 1 more so than Diggs or Dell. Quarterback CJ Stroud now has another talented receiver to throw to in 2025.
