Chocolate teapot deemed more useful than Ruben Amorim’s disastrous Man Utd tactics board in brutal new poll

Chocolate teapot deemed more useful than Ruben Amorim’s disastrous Man Utd tactics board in brutal new poll

THE fallout from Manchester United’s humiliating defeat to Grimsby is getting even worse for manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has already been branded as a “coward” for seemingly hiding in the dugout during the penalty shootout, while he was mocked for his pitch-side tactics board when United were 2-0 down.

Fans blasted the manager’s use of a laminated clipboard to tinker with magnetic pieces and look for a new formation for his team.

Now supporters have voted that a CHOCOLATE TEAPOT would be more useful than the Portuguese gaffer’s tactics board.

In a vote conducted by Paddy Power, fans were asked to make a call on whether the notoriously useless edible hot drink dispenser was more valuable than Amorim’s strategy device – and voted overwhelmingly in favour of the chocolate teapot.

Other big calls from Paddy Power punters on their latest viral Instagram survey decreed that a pint of milk left next to a radiator has a longer shelf life than a United manager.

While standing on an upturned plug is deemed to be less painful than watching the hapless Red Devils trying to play in Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 formation.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “While Ruben Amorin was busy moving his magnets around in circles on his tactics board, his players were doing much the same on it.

“In fact, Manchester United seem to have been going around in circles for years, without much improvement to show from it.

“We decided to put it to the people and see what they think is more useful and their answers speak volumes – it’s time for Jim Ratcliffe to put his hand in pocket for a chocolate teapot for the canteen at the training ground!”

Amorim is under increasing pressure at the Theatre of Dreams after his dismal start to the season has seen fans call for him to be sacked.

The 40-year-old appears to be running out of time and will surely need to get a result on Saturday when United host newly promoted Burnley at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim issues grovelling apology to Man Utd fans after Grimsby embarrassment

He has won just one of his last seven games in all competitions and currently has a win percentage of just over 37 per cent during his time in charge of United.

Speaking after the defeat to Grimsby, Amorim hinted that his squad aren’t playing for him.

He said: “In the end, it doesn’t matter if we recover or not, it’s the signs the team gave during the game, the beginning of the game.

“I think the best team won, the only team that was on the pitch.

“The best players lose because one team can win against any group of players, and I think the team and the players spoke really loud today, so that’s it. We lost, the best team won.”

Adding: “I think it’s really clear what they spoke, so let’s move on from this day and I think it was clear for everybody what happened today.”

“The way we start the game without any intensity, all the idea of the pressure, we were completely lost and that’s why I think they spoke really loud.”
